Spring Updates and Happenings

I really am terrible with making updates regularly, though I am going to try and start a monthly regiment to at least log whats been going on in the studio and on the road.

In a nutshell I haven't slept since I graduated from college and hit the road with the Atlanta based soul band 'The Shadowboxers'. But in the midst of their hectic schedule I have managed to keep myself occupied in the wee hours of the morning with lots of other projects.

So far I have failed to inform anyone at all of the releases and work I have been a part of recently, so for those interested here it goes-

In 2011 I was involved heavily in creating my portfolio for my graduation from the Art Institute of Atlanta, but I also juggled the work with releasing two very different albums from two very original artists. I played drums on both and co-engineered with a very talented friend of mine, Berkely School of Music graduate Will Mitchell (WhenWill Studio).
The first is called "Frozen" and its a full length album from Will Mitchells brainchild "Future Self". Its full of intricate textures and harmonic layers, playing off of each others melodies and rhythms- all accompanied by a very honest and natural style of vocal production.
The second is 'The Shadowboxers' Ep which is a full range of songs and styles experimented with by many different producers and engineers including Exit Goodchild, Shawn Grove, Dan Hannon, and of course Will and myself.

Both of these albums are available to listen to on the portfolio page.

As fall rolled around last year I also helped with post production sound on a film by Emory University alumni Matt Ryckman entitled 'The Visitor'. I had a lot of fun with this film despite having so many projects in the works at once, I really found the cinematography and lighting to be very well done. Also I love sci fi and horror, so this creepy drama was a blast to play around with. You can watch it in the video section of my portfolio.

So far 2012 has not been any less busy. Between stints of touring the country opening for The Indigo Girls, and playing for lots of new people and acts I have logged more time behind the drums and computer than anywhere else.
Currently The Shadowboxers are awaiting the masters of their new full length album we recorded in Shreveport, LA at Blade Studios back in March. I am working on several musical projects, including new 'No One Faction' material and songs from several new acts that will be nearing completion in June.

In the meantime Ill be trying to be more steadfast about updating my news-
Because if you are reading this I truly do appreciate your interest.

Ill talk to you from the road-

Jaron
